AEG washing machine error codes
AEG washing machines (Electrolux group) show E- and EH-number codes. E20/E21 drain faults and E40 door faults are the most commonly reported by owners; the same codes apply to AEG tumble dryers.
| Code | Meaning | Severity | First action |
|---|---|---|---|
| E20 | Drain fault | Often fixable at home | The machine could not drain — water is left in the drum. |
| E10 | Water inlet fault | Often fixable at home | The machine did not fill with water, or filled too slowly. |
| E40 | Door fault | Often fixable at home | The door is not properly closed or the lock is not engaging, so the programme will not start. |
| E50 | Motor fault | Often fixable at home | The motor is not responding as expected — on older AEG machines usually carbon brush wear. |
| EH3 | Water level / pressure fault | Often fixable at home | The pressure sensor is reporting an implausible water level — a sensor or tub pressure-hose fault. |
Safety first
Unplug before any check. Never open panels beyond the filter flap. Anything involving internal wiring, the heater or gas must go to a professional — see each code page for its "call a professional when" line.
