Hoover washing machine error codes
Hoover washing machines show E-number codes (sometimes prefixed with "Err"). E03 (drain), E02 (fill) and E01 (door) are the most commonly reported by owners across Hoover and Candy model lines.
| Code | Meaning | Severity | First action |
|---|---|---|---|
| E03 | Drain fault | Often fixable at home | The machine could not empty the water within the expected time — water is left in the drum. |
| E02 | Water inlet fault | Often fixable at home | The machine did not fill with water, or filled too slowly. |
| E01 | Door fault | Often fixable at home | The door is not detected as closed and locked, so the programme will not start. |
| E08 | Motor fault | Often fixable at home | The motor is not responding as expected — typically motor, tacho or wiring. |
| E14 | Water level sensor fault | Often fixable at home | The water-level (pressure) sensor is giving implausible readings to the control board. |
Safety first
Unplug before any check. Never open panels beyond the filter flap. Anything involving internal wiring, the heater or gas must go to a professional — see each code page for its "call a professional when" line.
